The innovative Clevatech Boiler Lifter is a must have tool for installation companies and gas engineers

A safer way to install gas boilers

Muscle strains and back injuries due to manual handling are common for installers. This can lead to time off work and loss of earnings.

According to a national survey run by the Office for National Statistics:

477,000 workers suffered from work-related musculoskeletal disorders (new or long-standing) in 2021/22. The back was affected in 42% (202,000) of these cases.

7.3 million working days were lost due to work-related musculoskeletal disorders in 2021/22. Conditions affecting the back account for 40% of these with an estimated 14.2 days lost per case.

Labour Force Survey (LFS).

We've got your back!

Clevatech has developed a new Boiler Lifter tool which is designed for installation companies or individuals who value health and safety in the workplace. It makes lifting a gas boiler, on and off the wall, easier and much safer.

The Clevatech Boiler Lifter is fully compliant with Health and Safety Executive guidance for working safely. Using this tool will greatly reduce the risk of injury due to manual handling.

Operated by one person the Boiler Lifter is ideal for awkward installations in confined spaces. Not only does using the lifter make installing easier and safer it could result in big savings in labour costs.

Clever technology utilises a standard core drilled flue hole, through a cavity wall, to securely lock the tool in place. A sliding arm extends to clear expensive work tops and other obstacles. Powered by a brushless drill, the lifter makes quick and easy work of handling heavy boilers, just by squeezing the trigger. The tool takes the boilers weight, while the installer guides it safely and precisely onto the wall bracket.

The Lifter can be used just as effectively to safely remove old, decommissioned, and broken boilers.

One of our biggest challenges is to change installers attitude to health and safety, and get them to seriously consider the risks involved from manual handling.

Frequently Asked Questions

The lifter complies with UKCA for UK market and CE for EU market.

The lifter is designed to work in standard concentrically drilled flue holes of 4”, 4.5” and 5” so will adapt to suit 107mm to 127mm diameter holes.

No, the lifter is designed for external cavity walls constructed from Brick, Block, Concrete or Stone (or a combination of those).

The maximum extension of the winch head lifting point is 820mm from the inside wall. This will allow most boilers to be lifted clear of a typical kitchen worktop, cloakroom WC or hot water storage tank.

Yes, the flue position needs to be central and exit horizontally above the boiler. This applies to 90% of boilers.

The FoS is 4 which means the lifter is designed and tested to handle loads in excess of 4 times its Safe Working Load (38kg) at full extension.

The harness will work with boilers up to 460mm wide.

The external wall plate is recommended for single story extensions where there is less than 500mm of brickwork from the top of the flue hole to the roofline. In these cases, we recommend mounting the wall plate over the lifter profile protruding through the outside cavity and fixing in place with 4 x No.10 steel fixing screws.

We recommend a brushless drill and use of lowest speed/highest torque setting.

Yes, the lifter can be used if the old boiler complies with the specified maximum load weight it is designed for. You will need to remove the flue first and ensure the core drilled holes through the cavity wall are concentric. Feed the harness perimeter straps between the back of the boiler and the wall using the boiler gauge/strap feeder. We recommend you use the lifting bar adjustment blocks to pre-tension the harness equally. The blocks are then removed to give enough slack to unhook the boiler from the wall bracket.

It is the owners responsibility to regularly check the lifter and harness for damage. We adopt a best practice approach to this and will endeavor to send our customers a reminder email/text every 6 months asking them to inspect the equipment. Spare parts (such as lifting harness, drill adaptor, lifting bar, D-Shackle, perimeter strap, toolbag and cam buckle cover) will be available to purchase from us at discounted prices. So, if in doubt, order a new part and we will send it out as soon as we can.

Yes, of course, when you go to the shop basket and checkout you will see an option to waiver the delivery fee and collect in person. We will contact you when your order is ready to collect from our Gloucestershire premises.
